Overview

Overview

The Interview is a limited-edition web series that provides viewers with a unique insight into the people behind the Saladmaster cookware brand. I filmed and interviewed the series over two weeks, including long-term tenured employees and team members based in the UK. Each episode highlights a few team members, who are asked a series of questions to help the viewer get to know and understand what motivates and drives each person.

Exploring the Challenge

Fresh out of the 2020 COVID pandemic, how do you encourage remote team members and associates worldwide to build a connection with the core employees working behind the scenes? You create a special digital program that allows each team member to open up about what moves and motivates them with deep, thought-provoking questions.

The Project Process

The Project Process

The Design Approach

Since the series was launched and intended for an internal audience (of every Saladmaster branded Dealership worldwide), I kept the design in line with the marketing brand standards, keeping the visual appearances light and friendly. Since this program was for the cookware company, I designed the set around the in-office kitchen/training room for all local interviews.

The End Results

The series launched with a warm and successful reception, with thousands of viewers from across the world tuning in each month to watch each episode. After the series was completed, associates felt that they were able to form a better and deeper relationship with the team members who appeared in the show, which allowed them to trust and communicate with the team on a grander scale.

Notes

While I filmed The Interview series during the summer of 2021, I continued editing the limited series after I left my position at Saladmaster. Since it's launch, more than half of the team members featured in the series also left the company, resulting in the series being removed from the internal training platform in Spring 2024. Given the success of the series, attempts have been made to remake the series for Saladmaster's newer team members, as well as bringing the series to G6 Hospitality.
